My story

I am getting kicked out of the SickKids hospital.

Okay, not really… but I turn 17 this year, which means it’s time to graduate the hospital for sick children (SickKids!).

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at birth (I was born without a thyroid gland) and SickKids has taken care of me since I was an infant. It’s been 16.5 years of check-ups with nurse Irena, bloodwork that was rewarded with “bravery” beads from their blood lab and a treat at the hospital Tim Hortons from my parents every visit. Now it’s time for me to say goodbye.

I’ll always be grateful to all the kind staff and nurses who gave the best care any kid could ever ask for and for the community I found at SickKids. This fundraiser is my final thank you.

As a small token of my gratitude, all proceeds from the sale of my custom designed apparel are going to SickKids, to support them in continuing to provide other kids with the best medical care possible in what small way I can.
